Really Good Choices

Today was our business and leadership seminar here in Kigali, Rwanda. We spent the day with over 70 of the leading business, church, and government leaders, and taught them business principles and gave them tools for implementing them.

The people of Rwanda are unique in my experience. They are very attentive and polite, quite and throughtful. I have been working on using their mannerisms of greetings, including their style of handshake, their special greeting of friendship, and even some of their speach mannerisms.

It has been a joyful experience to get to know them. I have a special spot in my heart for Randa.

In Rwanda, time is different. No one has a care for the time. Although they make appointments, the set time is simply a suggestion. The two parties will likely meet, but the time they say they will meet has little connection to reality.

Unlike the western world, they tend to run time instead of being its slave. They do not allow appointments or other concerns to get into the way.

This allows them to make really good choices.

What about you? What kind of choices do you make? Go pick up a copy of Open Your Heart with Skiing (regardless of whether you ski or not). Enjoy it, but also learn from it.

Let's go!
